Choosing to move some of your operations off-shore means making a lot of tough decisions, deciding on where you locate your operations should be the easiest part of that decision. You want to make sure you choose somewhere that your customers will receive the best possible service and your company will have the necessary support for your technology. Have you considered the Philippines as a solution to your off-shore needs? The Philippines is one of the most popular locations for off-shoring because of the culture, the people, the low cost of living and the well-developed infrastructure of the country.

Familiarity with Western Culture

The Philippines was a colony of the United States of America for almost 50 years, up until 1946 when they became an independent nation. This means a great deal of the culture is heavily influenced by American culture. This familiarity limits barriers to communication and helps Agents working on your portfolio to better understand your customers, your company culture and the challenges your company and customers face.

Available Languages

Communicating with your customers is going to be an essential part of what your Business Process Outsourcing partner will do for you. The Philippines is an officially bilingual country, and many Filipinos are native English speakers who have little to no accent. An accent can be very distracting and can raise definite barriers to communication when Agents are only communicating verbally.

Educated Workforce

You don’t want the Agents working for your business to sound robotic on the phone; you want to know that if faced with a problem, those agents will have the problem solving skills andEducated Workforce ability to resolve an issue. More than 95% of the population is fully literate, and the national university, The University of the Philippines System is the largest Post-Secondary institution in the country.  You will not need to search far for educated workers to help your business run better, and more efficiently.

Low Costs

One of the most appealing aspects of offshoring your business is the lowered costs in doing business outside of North America and Europe. Western Countries have higher costs of living, which translates to higher wage and operating costs. Invest your money in to new products or services instead, by lowering your overhead by offshoring. The cost of living in the Philippines is significantly lower in comparison to other countries in Asia. The minimum wage in the Philippines – where a hearty meal out costs little more than $2 – is about $9 a day, meaning your labor costs will be about half of what they would be in North America.

Supportive Infrastructure

The Filipino Government has seized the opportunities available in the Business Process Outsourcing Industry and has made significant investment into infrastructure projects that will support growth. BPOs employ more than 1.15 million Filipinos (as of November 2017) and accounts for 10-15% of the Global market share. The Government of the Republic of the Philippines had invested in the promotion of the industry and has implemented tax breaks and investment in the telecommunications infrastructure of the country to help support increased usage. These investments have led to the Philippines overtaking India as the number one global provider of voice-based services.
