Organizations need to grow and evolve in order to thrive. With this in mind, Bill Gosling Outsourcing has been working behind the scenes to concentrate our vision and make sure that everyone is aligned under a single focus and five Core Values. We were inspired to this process as part of our alignment to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) as outlined in Traction by Gino Wickman. The EOS system builds discipline, accountability and focus to break through growth ceiling and achieve traction in accomplishing our vision.
Company values support your organization’s goals and shape the company culture, helping businesses to make the right decisions for them. Strengthening your focus brings everyone on the same page and helps you achieve your long-term strategy.
In order to survive and thrive over the years to come, our Core Values set the stage for our performance. Here are ours:
NEVER SATISFIED
Do we have the fire in the belly to win? Our industry is very competitive… like being in the playoffs 12 months a year. We want people on the team who want to win and are willing to commit themselves to this outcome. When we regularly win, we create the opportunity for much more productive conversations with our clients, while winning gives us the right to ask for more. Winning also creates a much better mood, which positively influences our other Core Values.
ABLE TO GROW, EAGER
In order to get better, we must crave to learn…continually. Learning is not static, it is not linear and it doesn’t just happen at the office. We have to set goals for our professional development regularly, and we must hold ourselves accountable to these goals. Oh yeah, most importantly, we must be strong judges of our own shortfalls so we can work on our personal improvements.
MAKE OTHERS BETTER
Simply put, for our business to survive and thrive, it will only happen if we all get better. That means everyone at Bill Gosling Outsourcing, not just yourself.
CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION
Businesses around the world are changing every day. Many are trying to be disruptive to their industry and some are trying to be the next Amazon, Google, Netflix or Uber. We must be creative and innovative ourselves, as ‘old factory thinking’ will not win the race. This does not mean we will build the next SpaceX rocket, but it does mean we will innovate to continually build a better mouse trap for ourselves and our clients, and we need to execute faster and more effectively by making our solutions and services superior…superior to our competition and superior to what our clients can do themselves.
HAVE FUN, ENERGETIC
Some people may feel our Core Values are way too intense. Not the case; we know that celebrating our wins along the way, laughing at ourselves and with our peers, and generally having some fun keeps the right balance for the family. But we need to know when focused energy is needed, especially when we have to buckle down to conquer an unexpected challenge.
Over the coming weeks we are going to be doing a deeper dive into each of the Core Values and what they means for the company.
