By now, we have gone through each of our core values and how they strengthen our team, organization and add value to our Clients. We have talked at length about our Core Values; “Never Satisfied,” “Able to Grow, Eager,” "Make Others Better” and “Creativity and Innovation” these values have talked at length about how we run our organization, the traits we prize, and the benefits to our Company, partners and the global flock. Our final core value, “Have Fun, Energetic” is crucial to the energy and culture and day-to-day flow of our organization.

What this means for the Company

Bill Gosling Outsourcing (BGO) knows the importance of celebrating our wins. The Gosling Theory is the foundation of how we conduct of our business, derived from the Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles book Gung Ho! we believe in the importance of Worthwhile Work, In Control of Achieving the Goal and Cheering the Progress. “Have Fun, Energetic” helps each individual in our organization not to internalize day-to-day stresses which can come at any job, but particularly ones within our industry. This core value is a pillar to contributing to our success as a company and how we operate.

The Gosling Theory

It’s simply the way we conduct our business, every time…

Worthwhile Work

Our people understand that the work they do is not simply a task to be completed.

It’s meaningful to our Clients, our business & their own personal development.

In Control of Achieving the Goal

We empower our people with the necessary tools, training and guidelines to take control of reaching their goals. We strive to bring out the very best in each of our team members.

Cheering the Progress

Our culture is built upon cheering the progress of our fellow team members, celebrating their successes and failures. Both allow us to learn from these experiences and each other.

How BGO Lives “Have Fun, Energetic”

At BGO we know that lowering stress levels will improve productivity, mental health, physical health and employee retention and “Have Fun, Energetic” is probably the easiest of our core values to showcase, it is a prominent part of the everyday rhythm of our office.

Our Guardians of the Goslings and local social teams lead all of our employee engagement events and initiatives in every location, these teams have helped our Goslings to raise money for local charities, organized employee appreciation events as well as our annual CEO Club Trip and Migration Conference.

Walk through any of our offices, and you can sense the energy of our teams buzzing around you. From Team Leads calling out successes and Agents communicating with customers with a smile on their face and energy in their voice. It is not uncommon to be pulled into an impromptu dance party, or bubble break complete with funny outfits and loud, upbeat music.

Our annual CEO Club trip rewards global top performers with an all-expenses-paid vacation and has been running since 1998. The Migration Conference brings together key employees and our partners to discuss the industry trends, new technologies and the exciting news for the upcoming year. This high-energy, exciting two-day conference allows our Partners to see a more casual side of our global management team.

What this means for our Partners

Studies have shown the results of ‘happiness’, its effect, and how they link to productivity. One study out of the University of Warwick’s Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy found that happier employees are more productive by an average of 12%. In general, science has implied that having a positive work environment stimulates better productivity from employees. Our offices come with amenities that show our team that they are valued. We offer an onsite gym, games room, Mother’s rooms and prayer rooms all to enhance the environments each employee. From birthday balloons to carnival events, BGO is always looking at ways to inject some happiness into the day.

We know that Engaged employees are also more likely to remain with the company, meaning less spending on training and increased quality of service for our clients. We are proud that 25% percent of our team is built through employee referrals. Overall, engaged employees are also more likely to have better attendance and productivity; the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that drop in productivity results in costs being passed onto Clients. One of the best ways to engage your employees is to maintain a culture where they feel connected to the organization's values.

What this means for our Flock

Most of us spend almost 25% of our week at work and coworkers become an extension of your friends and family.

Studies have shown that employees who are engaged in their work have lower stress and better health – especially their mental health. The discussion of mental health has taken center stage in the world media, and no one can deny how much your mental health effects your physical health and wellness. Volunteering and Giving back to the community helps to release endorphins, which help make your brain feel better. BGO ties our charitable efforts with exciting events to help raise awareness and funds for organizations that we support.

One charity that is near and dear to our hearts is the Paul Hansell Foundation, including their #convoplate initiative, in fact, our original plate has visited five countries and is the most passed plate. The plate initiative is built to begin a conversation about mental health. This year BGO received convoplates for each of our sites and we are excited to see the impact this will have on the conversations BGO's flock has on Mental Health.
